Sony Creative Software Portfolio goes to MAGIX
Berlin, May 23, 2016 – MAGIX Software GmbH and Sony Creative Software Inc. have agreed that the German software and app provider will acquire the award-winning Sony Creative Software products as well as additional company assets.
Sony Creative Software has been setting benchmarks in the area of digital media design for years with their globally successful product lines targeted at every type of user and their industry-leading technology. Now the company is setting its focus elsewhere and letting go of nearly all of its software programs, tools, and audio collections.
MAGIX Software GmbH is one of the leading creators of video, music, and photo-editing software in Europe and is already well established in the US market. By purchasing the Sony Creative Software products Vegas, Movie Studio, Sound Forge, and ACID, the company is further cementing its position in the market and accelerating its international growth trajectory.
“These products from Sony Creative Software are the perfect addition to our portfolio. We have already strengthened our presence in the United States in order to propel development and sales. This autumn, we will release new versions of the video-editing programs Vegas Pro and Movie Studio, which are heavily oriented toward customer wishes,” says MAGIX CEO Klaus Schmidt.
